If you’re having trouble connecting your HP DeskJet 2652 printer to your computer, here are several troubleshooting steps to help you resolve the issue:

1. Check Basic Connections

  • Power Check: Ensure the printer is turned on and properly plugged into a working power outlet.
  • Cables: If using a USB connection, make sure the USB cable is securely connected to both the printer and your computer. Try a different USB port on your computer.

2. Restart Devices

  • Restart Printer: Turn off the printer, wait for 30 seconds, and then turn it back on.
  • Restart Computer: Restart your computer to refresh connections and settings.

3. Reconnect Printer

  • USB Connection:
    • Disconnect and then reconnect the USB cable.
    • Try using a different USB cable if available.
  • Wireless Connection:
    • Ensure that both your printer and computer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
    • Reconnect your printer to the Wi-Fi network if needed. On the printer’s control panel, go to Setup > Network Setup > Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the instructions.

4. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

Download Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Support website and search for the HP DeskJet 2652. Download the latest drivers for your operating system.

Install Drivers:

  • Run the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to install or update the printer drivers.

Reinstall Printer:

  • Windows: Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click on your printer, and select Remove device. Reinstall the printer by following the on-screen instructions to add a new printer.
  • macOS: Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and click the minus (-) button to remove it. Then click the plus (+) button to add it back.

5. Use HP Smart App

Download HP Smart:

Set Up Printer:

  • Open the HP Smart app and follow the prompts to add your printer and complete the setup.

6. Check Printer Status

  • Printer Status:
    • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers (Windows) or System Preferences > Printers & Scanners (macOS) to check if the printer is listed and set as the default printer.
    • If there are any error messages, follow the on-screen instructions to resolve them.

7. Reset Printer Settings

it tells me there is an issue with drivers on my HP 2652 deskjet. When I try to install drivers it tells me that my printer is expired.
