Microsoft Windows 11

I cannot find the admin name and password. for my HP 8022e. resetting is not a solution if the Control panel has been locked. I have reviewed the "Accepted Solution" None of them work. If you don't have the admin name/password (which I never set in the first place) you cannot do any changes. How do I restore to factory settings and just start from scratch without it.

Hi @Gary1122,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you cannot find the admin username and password for your HP 8022e printer, you have a few options to try.

  • Default Credentials: The default username and password for many HP printers are often found in the printer's user manual or on a sticker attached to the printer itself. Look for any documentation or labels that came with your printer.
  • Online Search: Search online for the default admin credentials for the HP 8022e printer model. Be cautious when doing this and ensure you're accessing reputable sources.
  • Password Reset: If you've set a password previously and can't remember it, you may need to perform a factory reset on the printer to restore it to its default settings. However, this should be a last resort, as it will erase all custom settings on the printer.

Remember that for security reasons, it's important to change default passwords and use strong, unique passwords for your devices to prevent unauthorized access.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
