I cannot print documents.
Last month I had to delete my printer and reinstall it. It worked for one day
Today I used the Print and Scan Doctor. It ran through the process, printed the test page but nothing else

Hi @wltfnj

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I Understand that your printer is communicating correctly with HP Print and Scan Doctor (since the test page prints), but regular document jobs are not reaching the printer or are being blocked. I would request you to please follow the steps:

 Verify Print Queue

  • Open Control Panel → Devices and Printers.
  • Double‑click your HP printer.
  • Check if documents are stuck in the print queue.
  • If you see jobs listed, right‑click → Cancel All Documents.
  • Try printing again.

Confirm Default Printer

  • In Devices and Printers, make sure your HP printer has the green checkmark (default).
  • If not, right‑click → Set as Default Printer.
  • Sometimes jobs are sent to “Microsoft Print to PDF” or another virtual printer instead.

Restart Print Spooler Service

  • Press Windows + R, type services.msc, press Enter.
  • Scroll to Print Spooler.
  • Right‑click → Restart.
  • Try printing again.

Hope this helps, Please revert if the issue persists.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
