color laserjet pro MFP M282NW

I have color laserjet pro MFP M282NW printer which I want to connect it to my local network (peer to peer office network).

I tried to add the printer by IP address, but windows couldn't find the printer.

tried to ping printer's IP address  but no reply

when I downloaded the printer manual I read these lines which I could't explain :

Printer sharing disclaimer
HP does not support peer-to-peer networking, as the feature is a function of Microsoft operating systems and
not of the HP printer drivers. Go to Microsoft at www.microsoft.com."

Is that mean that I will not be able to connect the printer with my small network and use it?

Are you certain that your IP addresses are in the same range? Are you manually assigning an IP address to the printer, because in most cases small peer to peer networks will not always have a DHCP server to provide an address automatically. In some cases I have seen that if the printer is set to auto-negotiate speed it may not function properly and setting the connection speed manually can fix the problem.

Thanks for your reply

yes, I am sure  that printer IP in the same network. I printed network report which gives information about IP address (192.168.1.120/255.255.255.0 - gateway : 192.168.1.1 - dns 192.168.1.1) . and the router's IP address is : 192.168.1.1

I tried to enable DHCP Iin the printer control pannel - and tried also to assign fixed IP address , in both cases I reserved the printer IP address in router configuration page to avoid IP conflict.. but in vain , I still cant ping from any PC connected to the same network nor able to add printer by its IP address
