HP Smart (what a misnomer), Tank 7301.
Due to issues in my WIFI services in my home, I have replaces my former WIFI network with a new MESH WIFI network.
I can get the HP printer identified above, to join the new network. I suspect that the printer is somehow still associated with an old WIFI network name, that is no longer available in my home.

..... additionally....
I have followed all of the recommend trouble shooting steps that I can find published by HP or Microsoft, and have accomplished exactly nothing in terms of progress in making the printer join the new WIFI network.

Hi @kybjbtexbull ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you’ve already tried the published troubleshooting steps, here are some additional steps to help your HP Smart Tank 7301 printer connect to the new WiFi mesh network.
Restore Network Settings on the Printer:
- Resetting the network settings will clear any stored WiFi information from the previous network.
- Go to the printer's control panel:
- Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons simultaneously until the Power button blinks, and then release the buttons. This should reset the network settings to default.
Re-add the Printer to HP Smart:
- Open the HP Smart app on your computer.
- Remove the printer from the app if it’s already added.
- Then, re-add the printer to HP Smart:
- Follow the setup instructions in the app to connect the printer to your new WiFi network.
- Ensure you’re connecting to the 2.4 GHz band, as many HP printers have limited support for 5 GHz networks.
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor (Optional): HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP support site. This tool can help identify connection issues and may provide solutions specific to your setup.
Configure Manually via Printer Embedded Web Server (EWS):
- Connect your computer directly to the printer using WiFi Direct (instructions are in your printer’s manual).
- Open a web browser and enter the printer’s IP address (found in the WiFi Direct section on the printer’s display).
- Navigate to Network settings and configure your WiFi with the new network’s SSID and password.
Power Cycle the Printer and Router:
- Turn off the printer and router, wait a minute, then turn them back on. After rebooting, try connecting again.
Firmware Update:Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Check if a firmware update is available for the printer, as updates often improve connectivity. You can update through the HP Smart app or by downloading the latest firmware from the HP support website.
