@pastpirate, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To connect your HP DeskJet 4130e All-in-One Printer to your new Wi-Fi hub, follow these steps:
Method 1: Use HP Smart App (Recommended)
Ensure prerequisites:
- Your PC is connected to the new Wi-Fi network.
- The printer is powered on.
- Install or open the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store.
Reset Wi-Fi on the printer:
- Press and hold the Wireless button (📶) and the Cancel button (❌) on the printer together for 5 seconds until the Power light blinks.
- This puts the printer in Wi-Fi setup mode (also called "Easy Setup" or "Auto Wireless Connect").
Connect via HP Smart:
- Open HP Smart on your PC.
- Click “+ Add Printer” or “Set up a new printer.”
- The app will detect your printer and guide you through connecting it to the new Wi-Fi network.
Alternative: Use Your Smartphone
If you don’t have HP Smart on your PC, you can:
- Install the HP Smart app on your iPhone or Android.
- Connect the phone to the new Wi-Fi.
- Reset the printer’s Wi-Fi as above.
- Open the app and follow the prompts to add the printer and connect it.
If Already Installed But Not Printing:
If your printer was already installed and isn’t printing after the hub change:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Remove the old printer.
- Use HP Smart to re-add it using the new network.

Thank you for your response @pastpirate.
Great that it's scanning now, that means the connection is partially working. If it scans but doesn't print, the issue is likely due to a stuck or misconfigured print queue, driver, or port setting.
Here’s how to fix it step by step:
Restart the Print Spooler Service
This clears out stuck jobs:
- Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
- Scroll to Print Spooler.
- Right-click and select Restart.
Set the Correct Printer as Default
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Click your printer (HP DeskJet 4130e).
- Select Set as default.
Check the Printer Status
In Control Panel > Devices and Printers:
- Make sure it’s not offline or paused (right-click > See what's printing > uncheck those if selected).
Reinstall the Printer
Sometimes a clean reinstall helps:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
- Remove the printer.
- Restart your PC.
- Open HP Smart and add the printer again.
Use HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Download HP Print and Scan Doctor, click here
- Run it and follow prompts.
If my response did the trick and helped you out, marking it as an "Accepted Solution" would be super helpful for others! And if you'd like to show a little appreciation, clicking "Yes" on the bottom left is a great way to do it.
Take care and have a fantastic day!
Warmly,
