Hi @nascaradict2448

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand that  you keep losing connectivity between your PC and an HP printer, the most common causes are the printer changing IP addresses, Wi-Fi instability, or the PC/printer being on different network bands or networks. I would request you to please follow the steps:

Restart the printer and router

  • Turn the printer off.
  • Restart the router.
  • Wait until the network is fully back up, then turn the printer on.

Check the printer's IP address

  • Print a Network Configuration/Network Information page from the printer.
  • Note its IPv4 address, such as 192.168.1.25.
  • From the PC, open a browser and enter that IP address.
  • If the printer's Embedded Web Server opens, the network connection is working.

Check whether the IP address keeps changing

  • If the printer receives a different IP address after restarting, the PC may lose its connection to the printer.
  • Setting a DHCP reservation for the printer in your router is generally preferable to manually assigning an static IP.

Make sure both devices are on the same network

  • The PC and printer should be connected to the same home/office network. 2.4GHz

Remove and re-add the printer

  • In Windows, go to Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners.
  • Remove the affected printer.
  • Restart the PC.
  • Add the printer again after confirming its current IP address.

Note:
In Printer Properties – Ports – Port type, it must be Standard TCP/IP, not WSD or HP Standard TCP/IP.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
