Hi Sissyben

Here is how to get it back online:

1. Reset the Printer to Setup Mode

Since the printer is trying to find a network that no longer exists, you need to clear its old memory.

  • Locate the Status Button (the small button right above the power cord on the back of the printer).

  • Press and hold the Status button for about 5 seconds.

  • The lighting on the front (the "Edge lighting") should pulse purple. This indicates the printer is now in Setup Mode and is broadcasting its own temporary signal.

2. Prepare Your Mobile Device

  • Ensure your phone or laptop is connected to your new 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi-Fi network.

  • Make sure Bluetooth is turned on, as the HP Smart app uses it to "find" the printer during the initial handshake.

3. Reconfigure via HP Smart App

Instead of looking for a "Change Network" setting, you should treat it like a new device:

  • Open the HP Smart app.

  • On the home screen, you might see the printer listed as "Offline." Ignore that.

  • Look for the Plus sign (+) or "Add Printer" icon.

  • The app will search for printers in Setup Mode. Once it finds the Envy 6000, select it.

  • Follow the prompts to enter your new Wi-Fi password.

  • Once the light bar on the front turns solid blue, the connection is successful.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • The 2-Hour Window: Setup Mode only lasts for two hours. If it has been longer than that since you pressed the button, the purple light will stop, and you’ll need to hold the button again.

  • Dual-Band Routers: Many modern routers combine 2.4GHz and 5GHz into one name. If the app fails to connect, try moving your phone closer to the printer during the setup process.

  • VPNs: If you use a VPN on your phone or computer, disable it temporarily during the setup, as it can block the app from "seeing" devices on the local network.

I hope the above is helpful
