@KJT2628, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

To reset the username and password for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8028e All-in-One Printer, follow these steps:

Reset the Printer’s Network Settings

Since the Wi-Fi feature is locked, you may need to reset the network settings first.

  • On the printer control panel, go to:
Setup (⚙️) > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings
  • Confirm the reset and wait for the printer to restart.
  • Try reconnecting the printer to Wi-Fi.

Reset the Embedded Web Server (EWS) Password

If you forgot the administrator username and password for the printer’s web interface (EWS), you can restore factory defaults:

Perform a Semi-Full Reset

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Disconnect the power cable from the printer and wall outlet.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cable and turn on the printer.

Reset via Printer Menu

  • Open Setup (⚙️) > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults
  • Confirm the reset.

Reconnect the Printer

  • After the reset, you’ll need to set up your printer again, including Wi-Fi and EWS access.

Use HP Smart App

If resetting the printer doesn’t work, try using the HP Smart App:

  • Install HP Smart on your phone or PC.
  • Add the printer and navigate to Advanced Settings.
  • Look for Restore Factory Defaults or Reset Admin Password options.

Let me know if you need further help! 😊

Take care, and have an amazing day!
