Hi @Sand731

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I hear you — setting up a printer on the network can feel a little technical, especially when IP addresses come into play. You’ve already taken the right step by focusing on the internet setup.

Let’s go through the process carefully so your HP printer connects smoothly and you can print wirelessly without interruptions.

Step 1: Connect printer to Wi‑Fi

  1. On the printer’s control panel, open the Wireless or Network menu.
  2. Choose Wireless Setup Wizard.
  3. Select your Wi‑Fi network name (SSID) and enter the password.
  4. Wait until the printer confirms it is connected.

Step 2: Find the printer’s IP address

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Settings > Reports > Network Configuration Page.
  • Print the report; the IP address will be listed under IPv4 Address.
  • Alternatively, if your printer has a display, the IP address may appear directly in the Network Settings menu.

Step 3: Add printer to Windows 11

  1. On your computer, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Select Add a printer or scanner.
  3. If Windows doesn’t automatically find it, choose Add manually.
  4. Enter the printer’s IP address when prompted.
  5. Complete the setup and print a test page.

Step 4: Access printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS)

  • Open a browser on your computer.
  • Type the printer’s IP address into the address bar (e.g., http://192.168.1.25).
  • This opens the printer’s EWS, where you can adjust wireless settings, check status, and update firmware.

Step 5: Verify connection

  • Ensure your computer and printer are on the same Wi‑Fi network.
  • Try printing a test page from Windows.
  • If the page prints correctly, the IP setup is complete.

Once you’ve followed these steps, your printer should be fully online and ready to use. Would you like me to also explain how to assign a static IP address so the printer doesn’t change its IP each time the router restarts? That can make connections more reliable.
