Hi @Everesteng

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If your printer is showing as offline in the HP Smart App, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue. Here's a detailed guide:

Step 1: Run Diagnose and Fix Using HP Smart

  1. Download HP Smart App: If you don't have the app, you can download it from 123.hp.com or your respective app store.
  2. Open HP Smart: From the taskbar, search for and open HP Smart App.
  3. Diagnose and Fix: On the HP Smart home page, select the Diagnose and Fix icon located at the bottom left.
  4. Start Troubleshooting: Click Start to diagnose and fix any printer-related issues.
  5. Follow Instructions: If any issues are found, follow the onscreen instructions to resolve them. If no issues are detected, select Done and proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Set the Default Printer

  1. Open Printers & Scanners: From the taskbar, search for and open Printers & Scanners.
  2. Manage Default Printer: Ensure the "Let Windows manage my default printer" option is toggled Off.
  3. Set as Default: Select your printer from the list and click the "Set as default" button.

Troubleshoot Network Connection

  • Wi-Fi Network: Ensure your printer is within 8 meters of the router and the Wi-Fi light on the printer is solid blue. If not, reconnect the printer to the network.
  • Ethernet Connection: Disconnect and reconnect the Ethernet cable, ensuring it is not damaged. Use a different port if necessary.
  • USB Connection: Disconnect and inspect the USB cable for damage. Ensure it is directly connected to a USB port on the computer.

Additional Steps

  • Restart Devices: Restart your computer, mobile device, printer, and router.
  • Reconnect to the Network: Ensure the computer or mobile device is on the same network as the printer.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Check the HP website for the latest firmware updates for your printer model.

Let me know what you observe after trying these steps. You're clearly being proactive—let’s get that printer back online.
