HP DeskJet Ink Advantage Ultra 4828 All-in-One Printer

Hello!

I used WebServices many months for WebScan mostly. The WebServices asked admin password and there were no problems (since I remember the admin password).

However, once they become to ask a PIN. I tried the PIN which is printed on the label inside the cartridge access area and another PIN which is being printed in Status Report. They are different, and the both are incorrect (in Status Report the PIN seems like default: "12. Printer PIN: 12345678").

How to change the PIN (since I know admin password, but can't enter it anywhere)?

Or how to make full reset of the printer ?

Restore Defaults menu also asks the PIN...

Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi @Den33772,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage Ultra 4828 All-in-One Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

We would have to perform an OOBE reset on the printer to bypass the error

  • The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may corrupt the device.

Sorry, my printer does not initialize that way. Alignment page was not printed after the reset procedure. I tried it already 10 times. Printer still asks PIN for WebServices.

Gaya1239,

thank you again for the try. But I don't understand where to enter the credentials. When I go to WebServices (http://hp4800) and click "Sign in", the printer asks only PIN (not user's login and password, as it was before the problem issued. Moreover, I know my admin password as I set it and used in WebServices for few months).

Now, If I enter the PIN written on the cartridge access door label, the result is: "Incorrect Pin. Try again.". If I click "Print PIN", it prints paper "Printer Status Report" contains an item "12. Printer PIN: 12345678". This PIN is also incorrect.
