HP all in one desktop, wifi connected to HP Laserjet printer. Worked great. Installed New Netgear Nighthawk Wifi router and printer no longer connects with error of "Incorrect WPA Passphrase". Searched and found resolution believed to be Firmware update required.
Downloaded firmware for model. Buuut cannot connect to the printer to actually do the update. Found these instructions:
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05240288
Solution 1 doesn't work because I cannot disconnect all devices from wifi. House has sound system, security, thermostats etc all connected.
Solution 2 is to hard wire via USB. So I bought a 10' double male end USB and connected the two... the HP AIO desktop doesn't recognize the printer via the USB to run the Firmware.
BEYOND frustrated how to simply get the printer functioning/communicating again.

Hi,
You cannot connect a printer with a male to male USB cable, you should use a USB high speed cable for a printer using the back USB Port, the front USB host is intended for a USB Host such as a USB Stick, not for a computer.
This is how a correct USB cable for a printer looks:
you may also temporarily connect the printer with an ethernet cable to the router and update it.
The solution to temporarily disable wireless security can also be used, right, it will cause other network devices to loose its connection, but this is just temporarily for the moments of updating the printer, then you should set the security back to its original settings so other devices such as the sound devices will then reconnect back, the intention is only for the update purposes.

Completed. Used Printer/USB cable and not Male end-to-end cable.
Ran the following downloads:
HP Laserjet Pro Series Firmware Update Utility
HP ePrint Software for Network and Wireless Connected Printers
HP LaserJet 200 color M276 Full Feature Software and Drivers
Installed all. Printer works fine via USB cable connection.
Printer still will not connect to Wifi with valid password. Continue to receive "Invalid WPA Passphrase" message.

Thanks for clarifying.
From the printer menu, tap the Setup icon and then select Report.
Click on Configuration Page, a Configuration Page report print.
Locate the listed Firmware Datecode in the report, is it updated indeed and lists 20190401?
Also, please also make sure your router firmware is up to date too, and check if it may make any difference, you may consult your router provider for the latest firmware:
https://www.netgear.com/support/
If the same persists, please clarify the exact router model to get a better understanding of any possible cause.

Firmware datacode: 20190401 is loaded
Wifi Router: Netgear Nighthawk AX6000, Model: RAX120,
S/N: 5VE3995DF11E3
Needed firmware udpate to V1.0.1.136
Update Completed.
"Invalid WPA Passphrase" persists.
All other devices work fine on Wifi router. HP printer is only device in household not accepting the password.

Thanks for the detailed information.
Please make sure to restore the printer network settings, tap Setup > Network Settings > Restore Network Defaults and confirm and prompts, then restart the printer.
Try disabling PMF for your router and check if that may make any difference:
Also, try changing the router's security settings, ensure it is not set to WPA-Enterprise which is not supported, try WPA2 with TKIP and with TKIP-AES too, also try WEP security and check if you may see any difference among the different security types.
Hope that may help,
Shlomi

There is a chance we are getting close. I changed the Security settings on the Netgear system as suggested. When I changed it to "None", the printer shows Connected to WiFi. Ran a Wireless Network Report from the Printer and that too says connected to WifFi. Looking positive and everything appears to by linked.
However I open Word and try to print a test page from the HP desktop computer and the HP Printer shows as "Offline". So it is apparently connected via WiFi, but not communicating.
