HP ENVY 6055e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

HP ENVY 6055e printer--in printer assistant Tools, it says "can't establish a two way connection with USB device."  All aspects of the printer work just fine but I can't access ink info or general info and the like because of this error.  Haven't been able to solve it.  Any suggestions?  RC

Hi @RLC12,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand you are unable to access your instant ink details,  and need assistance with the same.

For you to access the ink data/details, the printer needs to be connected to the wireless network as well.

If not connected, please follow the steps below to connect the printer to your wireless network.

!. Restore the printer to the default network settings, and then use HP Smart to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

Step 1:

Restore network default settings on the printer, to do that Press and hold the Wireless button on the back of the printer for five seconds or until the Status light flashes (blue or purple depending on the model).

Step 2:

Uninstall and re-install the HP Smart app on your computer/mobile device.

Place the printer and the computer or mobile device near the Wi-Fi router.

Turn on Wi-Fi on your computer or mobile device and connect to your network. If the computer is connected to the network with an Ethernet cable, temporarily disconnect the cable and use the Wi-Fi connection during the setup.

Enable Bluetooth on the computer or mobile device so that HP Smart can detect the printer during the setup.

After installing HP Smart for iOS and Android, enable the mobile device location service and allow the app to use your location to detect the printer and offer solutions during setup.

Download the HP Smart app from 123.hp.com (Android, Apple iOS, iPadOS).

In HP Smart, click Add Printer or the plus sign to search for the printer, and then follow the instructions to complete the setup.

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution. We hope our assistance has been helpful!

If this solution hit the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Regards,
