HP Ink Tank Wireless 419

Hi Team,

I am currently troubleshooting a wireless network connectivity issue with my Ink Tank 419 series printer. I’ve installed the HP Smart App, but I’m unable to change the "Advanced Settings" to enable both Wireless and Wi-Fi Direct. The app is prompting me for a username and password when trying to access these settings via http://[::1]:58382/.

Could you please provide the default username and password to log in and enable these settings?

I would appreciate your assistance in resolving this issue. Thank you!

Regards

Hi @Z6Z97A3

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're encountering an issue where you're trying to access the "Advanced Settings" of your HP Ink Tank 419 series printer via the HP Smart App or through a web interface at http://[::1]:58382/ but are being prompted for a username and password.

Regarding Default Username and Password:

Typically, HP printers, including the Ink Tank series, do not require a username and password for accessing the settings through the web interface, unless the printer has been previously secured with custom login credentials (perhaps set up during the initial installation or configuration).

In general, the printer’s web interface should allow you to manage network settings without requiring login details, but if it's prompting for a username and password, here are a few things to try:

1. Default Login (if Printer Has Been Secured):

  • If your printer was set up with a default username and password, you can try these default credentials:
    • Username: admin
    • Password: admin (or try 123456 or leaving it blank)

2. Resetting the Printer Network Settings:

If you are unable to access the settings or have forgotten any login credentials, one option is to reset the printer's network settings. This will clear any previously configured settings, including any security settings, and allow you to reconnect to your network.

To reset the printer's network settings:

  • On the printer control panel, press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button at the same time for about 10 seconds.
  • This will reset the wireless settings and allow you to reconfigure the printer on your network.

3. Using HP Smart App to Reconnect to Wi-Fi:

Once the network settings are reset, you can use the HP Smart App to easily reconnect your printer to your Wi-Fi network:

  • Open the HP Smart App on your mobile device.
  • Choose Add Printer or select your printer if it already appears.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

During this process, you should be able to access the necessary settings (including Wireless and Wi-Fi Direct) without the need for a password prompt.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi Rachel,

Greetings of the day!

Thank you for your response and support. Apologies for the delay in getting back to you.

I’ve followed the steps you provided, but I’m still unable to log in to advanced setting using the provided credentials (admin/admin and admin/123456). I also attempted to reset the printer’s network settings, but the login credentials are still not working.

I am able to connect the printer via wired connection, but unable to connect the printer to my local wireless network, and I’m unable to print from either my laptop using wireless or mobile device.

Could you please assist with resolving this issue?

Thanks again for your support.

Best regards,

Senthil Kumar
