Hi @Butterfly481,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

To update the network details on your HP printer after installing a new router from Virgin Media, you will need to configure your printer with the new network settings. Below is a guide on how to do this for both wired and wireless network setups:

For Wireless Network Setup:

Restore Network Settings: You can start by restoring the wireless settings on your printer to default. Usually, this can be done by pressing and holding the wireless button on your printer for about 20 seconds until the LED lights start blinking.

Connect using WPS (if supported):

  • Check if your new router and printer support Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS).
  • On your printer, press and hold the WPS button on the control panel.
  • Within two minutes, press the WPS button on your Virgin Media router.
  • The devices will connect, and the printer’s LED should stay on.

Manual Connection through Control Panel:

  • On your printer, select Menu > Network > Wi-Fi.
  • Choose Wi-Fi Settings and select the desired network from the list.
  • Enter the new Wi-Fi password for the Virgin Media network.

Use HP App:

  • Ensure your mobile device is connected to the new network.
  • Open the HP app, tap the plus icon to add a new printer, and follow the on-screen instructions to connect your printer to the network.

For Wired Network Setup:

Print a Network Configuration Report:

  • Press the Menu button on the printer’s control panel.
  • Select Network > Network Conf. to print the current network settings which include IP and MAC address.

Set the IP Address:

  • You may need to obtain the new IP address assigned by the router and set it on the printer. This can often be achieved through the printer’s Embedded Web Server by entering the printer’s IP address in a web browser.

Reinstall the Printer Driver:

  • Download the latest driver from the HP Official HP® Support if needed. Unzip and run the installer, following the on-screen instructions.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
