Hi @Sdement,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're having trouble with your HP Envy 6400 printer and the Instant Ink service. Sometimes issues with Instant Ink can occur, particularly if there's a billing issue, subscription problem, or communication error between your printer and HP's system. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot.
Check the Instant Ink Status:
- Log into your HP Instant Ink account on the HP Instant Ink website.
- Verify that your subscription is active and there are no payment or billing issues.
- Ensure that your printer is properly linked to your account.
Restart Your Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and power it on.
- Sometimes this can reset the connection to the Instant Ink service.
Reinstall Instant Ink Cartridges:
- If your Instant Ink cartridges are not recognized, try removing and reinserting them.
- Make sure they are the correct cartridges for your printer.
Check Printer Connectivity:
- Ensure your printer is connected to the internet. If it’s not, it can’t communicate with the Instant Ink service.
- You can test this by trying to print a test page or accessing the printer’s settings through its menu.
Bypass Instant Ink:
- If you urgently need to print, you can bypass Instant Ink by using regular cartridges. You'll be charged for standard ink costs instead of the Instant Ink subscription.
- Just make sure to remove the Instant Ink cartridges and install regular ones.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
