Hp deskjet 3700
iOS

I have th HP DeskJet 3700. Every Android and Windows device prints to this printer without any issue or notification. My iPad will not print anything. The printer status says Alignment Recommended.  Load paper, then tap Continue. Tap Align, the follow on screen instructions.  WHERE IS THE CONTINUE BUTTON????? How do I get rid of this message and print from my iPad?  It's an iPad Air 3 running iPadOS 15.1 and both my iPad and the printer are on the same network.  Very, very, very frustrating.

Hi @Slyman5000,

I'd like to help!

I understand you are unable to print from your ipad

To assist better -

Are you receive the complete alignment error on all the devices?

Meanwhile, Print from your Apple device

Print documents, photos, and web pages from iPhone and iPad apps with a print feature.

  1. Make sure the printer is turned on, cartridges are installed, and the paper you want to print on is loaded in the correct paper tray.

  2. Open the item you want to print, and then tap the Share icon ( or ).

  3. Tap Print or the Print icon .

  4. Select your printer, and then change print settings such as paper size, number of copies, or page range. Available settings depend on the app you are printing from, the print job type, and your printer.

  5. Tap Print.

It is only the iPad that is not able to print. The iPad is the only device indicating printer status of alignment recommended. Then when I open the tools, there is no way to align using the iPad. I’ve aligned using another device but the iPad still says alignment recommended.

Were you able to print using airprint?

Meanwhile, Try the below suggestion-

To update the printer's firmware, refer - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

To update ios, try these steps -Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Uninstall HP Smart from the App Store and reinstall the app and set it up.

Let me know how this goes!
