I'm trying to find out if it's possible to change the printer tray from my laptop. Tray 1 has label paper for my home business, but I occasionally need to print on regular paper, which is in tray 1. I'm sure there must be a way to switch on the fly but I just can't figure it out! Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to the HP Community.
If "remote" means not on the printer display panel but still within the same network as the printer,
Use the Embedded Web Server (EWS) to configure the Tray and Paper Management
Reminder:
This printer model / series >> Tray 1 supports standard paper choices (Plain Paper)
Use Tray 2 for specialty paper
EWS – Browser – Tray and Paper Management
Open your favorite browser > type / enter Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
Tab Settings > Preferences > Tray and Paper Management
Model Dependent: Advanced section
Click Apply to save changes
Example - EWS - Tray and Paper Management
EWS_9025_Preferences_Tray_and_Paper_Management_All_4
9020_EWS_Preferences_Tray-Paper_Management_Advanced_1
Example - Retain / Modify / Check Paper Size & Type - Tray and Paper Management
