HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276nw
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Hello.  I have an HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276n.  Am I able to add this model as a device on my existing wifi network? If so, how do I do that?

If I enter this model into the HP virtual agent, one of the options is to get help adding this printer to my wireless network.  But the second step in the instructions is,

>> The printer is turned on and in a ready state, and the wireless light is either on and steady or blinking.

I don't see any sort of 'wireless light' on my printer.

Thanks in advance.

Yes you would require  network cable. If this is a remote install with no cabling possible you have 2 options.

1. Get a USB to WIFI print server for the printer. HP makes a small WIFI external JetDirect that attached to the USB port as to several network hardware companies such as TP-Link or Drink.

2. Get a pair of power line ethernet adapters to allow you to run ethernet to anywhere in the location that has a power outlet.

You state 2 different models here. A 276N would have wired network only. A model with a W in the part number will be wireless.  Keep in mind though that if your network has wired and wireless abilities, you can connect to any devices on that network regardless of whether they are connected via wireless or wired connection.

Sorry, the model number is HP LaserJet Pro 200 color MFP M276n--I just double checked what is printed on the unit.  So no wireless then I guess.

Right.  But I still have to connect the printer to the router via ethernet cable--correct?

OK thanks for all that.  I'll see if I can use a LAN cable temporarily.

I might be interested in this.  Would you happen to have a link to a unit that would be compatible with my printer?
