Hi @Girlly2,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP LaserJet M209dwe printer is offline and your Windows PC can't get the network settings from the router, you can try the following steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check Network Connection

  • Verify Router Connection: Ensure the router is functioning correctly and has an active internet connection.
  • Printer Connection: Confirm that the printer is connected to the network. Check the printer’s control panel for network settings and make sure it is connected to the correct Wi-Fi network.

2. Restart Devices

  • Printer: Turn off the printer, wait a few moments, and then turn it back on.
  • Router: Restart the router by unplugging it for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in.
  • PC: Restart your computer to refresh network connections.

3. Reconfigure Printer Network Settings

  • Control Panel: Use the printer’s control panel to reconnect it to your Wi-Fi network. Go to the network settings and select the correct network.
  • Wireless Setup Wizard: Access the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer’s control panel to guide you through reconnecting to your network.

4. Check IP Address

  • Printer IP: Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer’s control panel to check its IP address.
  • PC: Ensure the IP address of the printer is within the same range as your computer’s IP address.

5. Update Printer Drivers

  • Driver Update: Go to the HP website or use HP Smart software to download and install the latest printer drivers.

6. Add Printer Manually

  1. Open Settings: Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  2. Add Printer: Click on Add a printer or scanner.
  3. Select Printer: If the printer doesn’t appear, click on The printer that I want isn't listed, and then follow the prompts to add the printer manually using its IP address.

7. Check for Interference

  • Network Interference: Ensure there is no interference from other devices or obstacles between your printer and router.

8. Firewall/Security Software

  • Firewall Settings: Temporarily disable any firewall or security software on your PC to check if it’s blocking the connection.

9. Reset Printer Network Settings

  1. Factory Reset: Perform a network settings reset on the printer. Check the printer’s manual for specific instructions on how to reset network settings.

10. HP Smart App

  • Setup via HP Smart: Use the HP Smart app to set up the printer and check for any additional troubleshooting options.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
