Hello - I recently got a new router (and WiFi Name and Wi Password)  and my HP Laser Jet Pro M203dw Printer will not connect to that new WiFi network. I have already reset the printer's factory settings and I have reset the WiFi on the printer and tried connecting through HP App but HP Connect Set-Up does not show up as an option to connect under WiFi. It still shows connected to the old network with the Network Summary and Wireless Network Test Report. I have also tried to connect through IP address but printer is not showing an IPV4 or IPV6 address

Hi @morris84,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP LaserJet Pro M203dw printer not connecting to the new WiFi network, even after resetting and trying to set it up again, here’s how you can resolve the issue:

Step 1: Perform a Full Factory Reset

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source for at least 60 seconds.
  2. Reconnect the printer to the power source and turn it back on.
  3. Reset the printer's network settings:
    • On the printer's control panel, press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button together until the Power light blinks. This will reset the wireless settings to factory defaults.

Step 2: Reconnect the Printer to the New WiFi

Connect Using the WPS Button (if supported):

  • On your router, press and hold the WPS button until the indicator light blinks.
  • On the printer, press and hold the Wireless button until it starts blinking.
  • The printer should connect to the new network automatically.

Connect Using the HP Smart App:

  • Ensure your smartphone or computer is connected to the same WiFi network you want the printer to use.
  • Open the HP Smart app and follow the steps to add a new printer.
  • During the setup process, you should see the option to select a new WiFi network.

Connect Using the Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  • Temporarily connect your printer directly to your computer using a USB cable.
  • Open a browser and type in the printer's current IP address (check the Network Configuration Page if available).
  • Log in to the printer's EWS and navigate to the Wireless or Networking tab to update the SSID and password.

Step 3: Manual IP Assignment (If No IP Address is Displayed)

Print a Network Configuration Page:

  • Press and hold the Resume button for 10 seconds to print the report.
  • Check if the report lists an IPv4 or IPv6 address.

If no address is shown:

  • Assign a static IP address using the HP Smart App or the printer's Embedded Web Server (via USB connection).
  • Use an address within your router's subnet (e.g., 192.168.1.100).

Step 4: Verify Connectivity

  1. Reboot your router, printer, and device after setting up the WiFi connection.
  2. Confirm the printer is listed as connected in the router's admin panel.
  3. Test the connection by printing a test page.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi There,

I have tried all of these steps already. The printer WiFi light is still blinking and it is still connected to the old WiFi. I tried connecting using all the the steps/ways listed above including with an IP address.
