HP Jetdirect 3000w NFC/Wireless Accessory

My office has a LaserJet M552 with a recently-installed Jetdirect 3000w wireless accessory.   I have Wireless Direct enabled on the printer, and a wifi icon in the display, but when I select the 3000w network on my MacBook Pro and enter the Wireless Direct password (from the how to connect page), it will connect. It just comes back and asks for the password again. 

I can connect and print from my iPhone 14, no problem.

 

Is there a known issue with my MacBook, or am I missing something?  Thank you.

I've restarted the laptop and the printer a few times, but the problem remains the same.
