Hi @Bowker60

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand the concern. If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8125 All-in-One Printer keeps disconnecting from Wi‑Fi, the printer can appear offline and become unavailable for printing. Let's work through the most effective troubleshooting steps.

Restart the printer and your network equipment:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power from the router/modem for about 60 seconds.
  • Power the router back on and wait for the network to fully stabilize.
  • Turn the printer back on and check the connection status.

Verify the printer signal strength:

  • Ensure the printer is within a comfortable range of the wireless router.
  • Avoid placing the printer near cordless phones, microwave ovens, or other devices that may create wireless interference.

Reconnect the printer to Wi‑Fi:

  • On the printer control panel, open Wireless or Network Settings.
  • Run the Wireless Setup Wizard.
  • Select your Wi‑Fi network and enter the password carefully.
  • Confirm the printer receives a valid network connection.

Assign the printer to the 2.4 GHz wireless network if your router broadcasts separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks. This can provide a more stable connection for many printer environments.

Update the printer firmware:

  • From the printer control panel, go to Printer Maintenance or Printer Update.
  • Check for and install any available firmware updates.
  • Restart the printer after the update completes.

Remove and re-add the printer in Windows:

  • Open Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Remove the printer.
  • Open the HP App and add the printer again using the current Wi‑Fi connection.

Print a Wireless Network Test Report:

  • Review the report for signal strength, IP address, and connection status.
  • If the printer frequently receives a different IP address, reconnecting it to the network after a router restart may help maintain stability.

If the issue continues, please share:

  • Whether the printer disconnects after a certain amount of time or randomly.
  • Whether other devices on the same Wi‑Fi network remain connected.
  • Whether the printer shows any wireless error messages on the control panel.

This information will help us identify the most appropriate next steps for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8125.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
