HP8600 printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Keypad on HP8600 printer doesn't display correct letters - for instance, I press p and o appears on the screen. I can't input my wireless router address as the keypad isn't working properly.

Hi @Bella38,

I'd like to help!

Let's try a power reset on the printer

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

If the issue persists, you could set up the printer via USB  and then convert it to wireless

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
