Hi @SolvEdge,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If the LAN (Ethernet) port on your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M126nw has suddenly stopped working, here are the steps you can follow especially helpful since this model supports both wired and wireless networking.

HP Steps to Fix LAN Port Not Working on M126nw

1. Check the Physical Connection

  • Ensure the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the printer and the router/switch.
  • Try a different Ethernet cable and port on the router to rule out cable or port failure.
  • Look for link lights (green/orange) near the LAN port. If none are lit, the port may not be receiving power or signal.

2. Power Cycle the Printer and Network

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
  • Unplug your router/modem for 60 seconds.
  • Plug everything back in and power on the printer.

3. Restore Network Defaults

Resetting the network settings can help reinitialize the LAN port.

Steps:

  1. On the printer control panel, press the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for 5 seconds.
  2. This will restore the network settings to default.
  3. Reconnect the Ethernet cable and check if the printer appears on your network.

4. Access the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

If the printer gets an IP address:

  • Open a browser and type the printer’s IP address.
  • Go to Network > Ethernet Settings and ensure it’s enabled and set to Automatic (DHCP).

5. Update Firmware (if accessible)

If the printer is still accessible via USB or Wi-Fi:

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
