Problem with HP 5230 and 6970 printers, both on wifi. They work perfectly but when I turn off, not if I turn on, the printer's wifi for a fraction of a second my network consisting of Tim hub only router and i29 Tenda access point goes haywire, the 4 PoE cameras disconnect, the burglar alarm reports an IP error... Then everything is normal... No IP conflict, DHCP network from 100 to 200. Fixed IP printers with reservation outside the range. Ditto separate Nas and IoT on guest wifi (I don't trust the Chinese)... What do you hypothesize? Thank you...

Hi @MarcoMira,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I see that you are facing an issue with your printer that is connected to the wifi network.
A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.
1) Take out the cartridges
2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.
3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.
4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.
5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.
Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges
B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware and let me know if that resolves the issue.

Hi @MarcoMira,
I am sorry for the inconvenience and the trouble you are going through.
I see that all your devices connected to the network get disconnected when the printer is turned off.
There is no way a printer can have control of any device connected to the network or any device around it.
The issue seems to be something else, please get in touch with your internet service provider to assist you further.
