This resolution worked. I tried tons of suggestions in this community and this one fixed my 79 Service Error Turn Off Then On error message. Thanks!

Chantomc, another thanks for posting the rollback firmware, that did the trick, now to disable any automatic updates. Honestly hijacking a printer you paid good money for just so you can sell high priced toner cartridges should be criminal. I for **bleep** sure I will not purchase another product from HP. But, that being said the others are probably doing it as well. I have lost 4 days of printer use because of this update. When working from home thats a huge loss. Shame on you HP.

@TsMyers - I'm glad I could pay it forward and you are up and running. Agree that is BS about requiring HP toner.

I did exactly the same in the same sequence, after reading the 79 service error post. This solution did not resolve the repeating restart issue when wifi networking is on.

Step 2 fixed the problem for me.

Dairtel, I have had the Service Error 79 cycling problem for weeks (since update to latest firmware), had become quite desperate to find a fix, and just discovered this community. After reading your process, I was able to turn off IPV6 via the printer control screen during the brief time the printer goes into ready mode after re-initializing. Quick fix, and as you say, perfectly stable and functional. I am so grateful. Thank you!!!
