Hi @GB667,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your LaserJet Pro MFP M29w isn’t connecting to Wi-Fi. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Restart the printer and router
• Power off the printer, wait 15 seconds, then turn it back on.
• Restart your Wi-Fi router to clear temporary network issues.

Check Wi-Fi network type
• The M29w works only with 2.4 GHz networks.
• If you’re connected to a 5 GHz network, switch to the 2.4 GHz band.

Print a Wireless Network Test Report
• Press and hold the Wireless button until the light blinks.
• This prints a report showing connection errors, signal strength, and network status.

Re-run Wireless Setup Mode
• On the printer, hold the Wi-Fi button for 3 seconds until it starts blinking.
• Open the HP Smart app → Add Printer → Choose “Set up a new printer.”
• Select your Wi-Fi network and enter the password.

Check for router settings blocking the printer
• Make sure MAC filtering is OFF.
• Ensure the router is not set to WPA3-only (use WPA2 or WPA2/WPA3 mixed).

Update printer firmware
• If the printer can’t connect wirelessly, connect it temporarily via USB.
• Open HP Smart → Printer Settings → Advanced Settings → Firmware Update.

Reset network settings on the printer
• Hold both Wireless and Cancel buttons for 5 seconds.
• This clears previous Wi-Fi profiles so you can set up from scratch.

Check signal strength and distance
• Keep the printer within 6–8 feet of the router for setup.
• Avoid walls or metal objects that weaken the Wi-Fi signal.I hope this helps.
