This printer is under 2 years old and recently started showing a flashing information button and a solid amber light on the front. The error report says it is not connecting to the internet. Nothing else has changed in my house, I'm trying to reset the printer and reconnect it, but getting nowhwere. I followed the online instructions on how to reset the printer into setup mode so I can start over, but that doesn't seem to be working, either. Any ideas/suggestions/advice? Thank you in advance. 🙂

Thank you for your response. I had already tried all the suggestions you listed except for resetting the printer to factory settngs. I tried that and, unfortunately, it didn't work either. I'm assuming there must be a hardware defect of some kind and I've since replaced it. Thank you for your assistance just the same. I do appreciate it. 😊

Hi @GTifeld,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP LaserJet M234dwe is not connecting to the internet, there are several things you can try to troubleshoot the issue.
- Check the network connection: Make sure that the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the device you are trying to print from. You can check the network settings on the printer by printing a network configuration page.
- Restart the printer and router: Sometimes, restarting both the printer and the router can help to resolve connectivity issues. Try turning off the printer and the router for a few minutes, then turning them back on and attempting to connect again.
- Update the firmware: Check to see if there are any firmware updates available for the printer and if so, install them. Firmware updates can often improve the printer's connectivity and performance.
- Disable firewall or antivirus software temporarily: In some cases, firewall or antivirus software can interfere with the printer's ability to connect to the internet. Try disabling this software temporarily and see if the printer can connect.
- Reset the printer to factory settings: If none of the above steps work, you may need to reset the printer to its factory settings. This will erase all custom settings and return the printer to its original state. You can find instructions for resetting the printer in the user manual or on the HP website.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
