Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

Printer recognizes router but but keeps rejecting the password.  I have checked password multiiple times so I know I'm inputting the correct p/w.  The password works for other devices so I know it is correct.

Any ideas how I can get this baby to connect?

Thanks.

Hi @Caraqueno,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP LaserJet Pro CM1415fnw printer is not accepting the Wi-Fi password, despite ensuring its correctness, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue.

Restart Both Devices: Power off the printer and the router for about 30 seconds, then power them back on. Sometimes rebooting can resolve connectivity issues.

Check Wi-Fi Settings:

  • Ensure your router is set to a frequency that the printer supports (typically 2.4 GHz, as many older printers do not support 5 GHz).
  • Verify that your network does not have special characters or spaces in the SSID or password, as these can sometimes cause issues with older devices.

Printer Firmware Update: Make sure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Outdated firmware might exhibit connectivity issues with modern routers.

Reset Network Settings:

  • On the printer's control panel, go to the menu and reset the network settings to default.
  • Try to connect to the Wi-Fi again after resetting the network settings.

DHCP Settings: Ensure that DHCP is enabled on your router to allow the printer to obtain an IP address automatically.

Printer's Manual Setup: If you’re using automated setup methods, try entering the network settings manually. Sometimes manual configuration offers better control and success.

Check Router Settings:

  • Ensure that MAC address filtering is not enabled, or if it is, make sure the printer’s MAC address is added to the allowed list.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
