LaserJet Pro M254dw does not appear on network for set-up (Mac Sequoia 15.3.2)

I've had this printer for a couple of years. Recently, I've had connection issues that can usually be resolved by restarting the router and printers. I've also had to remove and re-add the printer. Today the printer would not show as available so once again I turned the router and printer on and off, then tried removing it and adding it back.

Only this time when I try to add the printer with the HP Smart app, the printer simply cannot be found.

On a whim, I tried adding it to my mobile device, and it showed up instantly. I'm not sure if that was because Bluetooth was being used or what. I was also able to print via my iPhone. But I really need this printer on my computer. 

Any ideas?

Well, somehow, I was able to add it. I wish I could explain exactly how, but I have little or no idea.

What I did was to set up HP Direct or whatever it is called. I was able to connect to the direct wireless connection, using the password found on the printer panel.

Then I tried to add using HP Smart. It still took a couple of tries.
