To resolve this, you can try performing a factory reset, which will restore the printer to its default settings, allowing you to reconnect it to the WiFi network. Here’s how you can perform a factory reset depending on the printer model.
General Steps for Resetting HP Printers:
- Turn off the printer and disconnect it from the power source.
- Press and hold the power button.
- While holding the power button, plug the printer back in.
- Continue holding the power button for 10-15 seconds, then release it.
- The printer should now restart and be restored to its default factory settings.
Specific Models:
For Touchscreen HP Printers:
- Go to "Setup" on the printer's screen.
- Navigate to "Restore Factory Defaults" or "Restore Network Settings" under Settings or Network Settings.
- Confirm the reset and follow the instructions to reconnect to WiFi.
For Printers without a Touchscreen:
- Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons simultaneously for 5-10 seconds until the wireless light flashes. This restores the default wireless settings.
