I am trying to scan a document from my printer to my email. The printer is asking me to login....I have no idea what my username or password is. Its not the one to my account online. Very frustrated.

I hear your concern about  the printer is blocking you with a login prompt. Let’s work through this together step by step.


Could you please share the exact model number of your HP printer ?  

Is the login prompt appearing on the printer’s touchscreen when you select “Scan to Email”?

Does it ask for a username and password tied to HP’s “Scan to Email” setup, or is it requesting your network/email credentials?

Have you previously set up “Scan to Email” on this printer, or is this the first time you’re trying it?

 

 In the meantime, here are few steps you can try:

Check the Embedded Web Server (EWS): You can access the printer’s IP address in a browser. From there, look under Scan → Scan to Email Setup. If it hasn’t been configured, you’ll need to set it up with your email provider’s SMTP settings.

Reset Scan to Email Profile: If you previously set it up but forgot the credentials, you may need to delete the old profile in the EWS and create a new one with your email account’s SMTP details.
