Hi  @Jay-leb,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're having trouble logging into your printer's account because the default username and password are not working, here are some steps to resolve the issue:

1. Verify Default Credentials

Check the Printer Manual:

  • Consult Manual: Look at the printer's manual for the default login credentials. Sometimes they are printed on a label on the printer or in the manual.

Try Common Defaults:

  • Default Values: Common default credentials are:
    • Username: admin
    • Password: admin or 123456
  • Ensure No Typo: Make sure Caps Lock is off and you're not entering any extra spaces.

2. Reset Printer to Factory Settings

If the default credentials don’t work, you might need to reset the printer to factory settings:

Access Printer Menu:

  • Use Control Panel: On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the Setup or Settings menu.

Perform Factory Reset:

  • Find Reset Option: Look for an option like Factory Reset or Restore Defaults.
  • Confirm Reset: Follow the prompts to perform the reset. This will restore default settings, including login credentials.

Reconfigure Printer:

  • Reconnect: After resetting, you'll need to set up your printer again, including network settings and any preferences.

3. Access Printer via Web Interface

If you can connect your printer to your network, you might access its settings via a web browser:

Find Printer IP Address:

  • Print Configuration Page: On the printer's control panel, print a configuration or network settings page to find the IP address.

Open Web Browser:

  • Enter IP Address: Type the IP address into a web browser to access the printer’s web interface.

Log In:

  • Try Default Credentials: Use the default username and password (often admin and admin or 123456).

4. Check for Firmware or Software Issues

Update Firmware:

  • Visit HP Support: Check the HP Support website for any firmware updates for your printer model.

Reinstall Printer Software:

  • Download and Install: Download the latest printer software and drivers from HP’s website and reinstall them. This may reset or fix login issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
