My printer M234sdwe has been working fine and suddenly the wifi is not connected. The wifi light is blinking with Error code 61. Try turn on and off the printer/computer/router, do not work. Connect with Network cable, no problem at all. Don't know what happen to the wifi.

Hi @GarfieldMom,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your HP M234sdwe printer's Wi-Fi connection. Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem.

  • Restart your printer: Turn off your printer, wait for a few seconds, and then turn it back on. Sometimes a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.
  • Check Wi-Fi connection: Ensure that your printer is within range of your Wi-Fi network. Make sure the Wi-Fi signal is strong and stable.
  • Verify Wi-Fi credentials: Double-check the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password you're using to connect the printer. Ensure that you're entering the correct information.
  • Reset network settings: On your printer's control panel, navigate to the network settings menu. Look for an option to reset network settings or restore default settings. Performing this action will remove any saved Wi-Fi connections on the printer, allowing you to set it up again from scratch.
  • Reconnect to Wi-Fi: Use the printer's control panel to connect it to your Wi-Fi network. Look for the wireless setup wizard or Wi-Fi setup options. Follow the on-screen instructions to select your network, enter the password, and establish the connection.
  • Update printer firmware: Visit the HP support website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model. If updates are available, follow the instructions provided to update the printer's firmware. Firmware updates often include bug fixes and improvements that can help resolve connectivity issues.
  • Restart your router: Power cycle your wireless router or access point. Unplug it from the power source, wait for about 10 seconds, and then plug it back in. Allow the router to restart and establish a stable connection.
  • Move closer to the router: If your printer is located far away from the Wi-Fi router, try moving it closer to improve the signal strength. Distance and physical obstacles can weaken the Wi-Fi signal.
  • Disable firewalls or antivirus software temporarily: In some cases, firewall or antivirus software may block the printer's Wi-Fi connection. Temporarily disable these security measures and check if the printer can connect to the Wi-Fi network. If it works, adjust the settings of your security software to allow the printer's connection.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
