How do I find the MAC address for a 2009 LaserJet 4000. It is not on the label and I have printed a configuration page and it is not listed.
It used to run on a home broadband router using a port as a network and it worked fine. I now have a new router, a Fritz!Box 7530AX and it wont recognise the printer and to load the port it needs the MAC address. My supplier has said that old printers can be difficult to make work.
Any help gratefully received.

The basic 4000 is ONLY network ready: you can add a jet direct card. That card may have a MAC label.
If it does not have a Mac label then
- Log into the router and clear the DHCP device list.
- Make a note of what is left over
- Connect the ethernet cable to the router and turn on the printer
- See what got added to the DHCP device list.
[edit] - While you are there looking at that Mac address, configure the IP address as fixed or static. This could save a lot of trouble later on.

Item 3 in the FAQ KB discusses the DHCP server
According to the KB the router supports a printer plugged into the USB port.
I have no experience with that router and did not see a Fritz community but their support is here.

@BobBurton can you scan a network config page and post it here? If it has an IP address, it should have a MAC address too.
On some older printer models, the MAC is listed as a Hardware address
e.g. MAC address is 00:17:08:8E:00:53
