Common problems for Connectivity Issues

HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3302fdwg
Microsoft Windows 11

My MFP 3302 suddenly started constantly losing wifi connection to the router after the connection was stable for 14 months. I have no explanation for this. Nothing in the configuration has been changed. Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Since the printer's place is close to the router, I solved the problem with an Ethernet cable (I don't want to bother with repairs).

Hi @teorema67,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Using an Ethernet (wired) connection is a perfectly valid and often the most stable option, especially since your printer is close to the router. Many customers choose this intentionally for business-class printers like the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 3302fdwg, as it:

  • Eliminates wireless interference
  • Provides consistent connectivity
  • Requires no ongoing troubleshooting

If everything is working well over Ethernet, there is absolutely no downside to continuing this setup.

If you ever want to revisit Wi-Fi later

Should you decide in the future to try Wi-Fi again, HP would typically recommend:

  • Restarting both the printer and router
  • Running the Wireless Setup Wizard from the printer control panel
  • Ensuring the printer is connected to a 2.4 GHz network (if available)
  • Updating printer firmware via HP Smart or Embedded Web Server

That said, since your current wired connection is stable and meets your needs, no further action is required.

We appreciate you sharing your experience; it will certainly help other users facing similar behavior. If you need assistance with anything else, we’re always here to help.

Take care and have an amazing day!
