HP Recommended
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

- HP Envy  Photo 7155

- Printer is sitting just inches away from Mac Desktop (High Sierra), but Mac does not see the printer HP Envy 7155 - not a question of distance

- Bluetooth Smart at the printer is enabled, turned on

- Mac DOES detect other devices, such as Mouse

- HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING, including resetting  the bluetooth module at the Mac

- Not seeing any new driver or firmware updates for this model

- Note, this is not a question about pairing the printer to the Mac, since the Mac does not even see the bluetooth printer to begin the pairing process

Besides already having enabled Bluetooth Smart at the printer, is there anything else I can try at the printer end to insure the Mac sees the printer?

Want to print directly via bluetooth.

Bottom line question: should I be able to connect the printer to the Mac via bluetooth?

Hi @M26K,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I understand that you are unable to connect your printer to your Mac. I'd like to help!

Note:- HP Smart uses Bluetooth for printer setup only. Printing using Bluetooth is not supported.

Update the printer firmware to install the latest updates on the printer

Here are the steps:- Click here

You may also check the details below if that helps.

However, for an accurate solution, I would need more details:

What's the make and model of your WiFi router?

Approximately how far are the printer and Mac located from your WiFi router?

Have you tried temporarily disabling the firewall?

It's possible that the router is not forwarding Bonjour packets. Bonjour is a set of protocols that allows communication between Mac and network-connected Printers. Arris routers have trouble forwarding Bonjour packets. Could you please check with your internet service provider and let me know if the router is able to forward bonjour packets?

I believe Bonjour(Multicast) protocol settings can be adjusted in router settings. However, I'm not sure where exactly the settings are. Could you please check with your internet service provider or the router manufacturer? They should be able to adjust the settings on the router. You can also try updating the router firmware.

Keep me posted for further assistance.
