Common problems for Connectivity Issues
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about Printer Wi-Fi, Connectivity Issues and Offline Status. Check out this link: HP printer is offline or unavailable.

Before the last firmware update a few weeks ago everything was perfect. The upgrade before this one fixed crashes during remote scanning and i was really glad, that this worked so well.

But now i have several issues:

* It loses the WLAN often after a few minutes uptime. Just to test I disabled the 5GHz band, but this did not help. When it has no WLAN connection and i go into the administration menu, section WLAN, it states, that it already is connected and on the router it looks alike (?!?), but a few minutes later the router also shows no connection anymore

* Scanning to network folder works luckily (as long as the WLAN connection is up), but scanning to E-Mail does not work anymore. The device had forgotten the related configuration. I added it again and letting it send a test Email also works, i receive the mail containing "Test mail to validate smtpserver". But scanning to mail does not. Interestingly it had not forgotten the contacts list. While scanning at some point it shows "Abbruch..." (aborting). No idea why. In the mailserver's log i see a connection attempt, but no valid login, neither to smtps (port 465) nor to the submit port with starttls (port 587).

In the message log of the device i see several errors F0.03.05.01 . Resetting (>1min disconnected from power supply) did not help. Since the problems started quite clearly with the firmware update, i assume this is the cause. Very funny. Warranty is expired, but i still get - breaking in this case - firmware updates.
i'm not amused.
Does anyone have an idea, if HP will fix that stuff ? Anyone else experiencing these issues ?

Hi @afluegel,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I'm sorry to hear about the issues you're experiencing with your HP device following the recent firmware update. Here are a few steps you can try to potentially resolve the WLAN connection problem:

Restart Your Devices: Begin by restarting both your HP device and your router. This can sometimes resolve connectivity issues.

Check Firmware Update: Ensure that you have the latest firmware version installed. Sometimes, additional updates are released to fix newly discovered bugs. Official HP® Support

Router Settings: Verify your router settings. If you've disabled the 5GHz band and it did not help, try enabling it again and test if the connection stabilizes. Additionally, ensure that your router's firmware is up to date.

WLAN Settings: Double-check the WLAN settings on both your HP device and your router. Make sure there are no conflicting settings or unusual configurations.

Network Diagnosis Tools: Utilize any network diagnostic tools available on your HP device. These can sometimes identify underlying issues with network connections.

Reconfigure Network Connection: Remove the current network connection from your HP device and reconnect to it as if it's a new network. This can sometimes resolve connection stability issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Regarding the issue with the failing scan-to-mail i have found, that the printer communicates with the mail server in a non-RFC-conformant way (ends the data section with a single LF without preceding CR, please search the internet for smtp smuggling and the srv_features u2 and g2 in the sendmail context) and i have asked HP to fix this. A case has been opened for my problems with the subject "(edited) HP Laserjet 4302 - Probleme seit dem Firmware Update CRM:0012886018897".

Regarding losing the Wifi connection after a random time between 1-10 minutes there must be something substantially broken now after the firmware update. I made quite a number of experiments and observations outlined in the case mentioned above. HP said, that downgrading the firmware is not an option. So as long as this is not fixed i don't see  another option but connecting the printer via a LAN wire. This is not, why i spend money for a wifi-capable device.
