HP OfficeJet 8015e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Hey, I hope someone can help me out. We have 3 of these printers in our office and I have used mine without issue for 2 years. Well since the other two printers started up, mine will now print at either of them and not at mine. And I thought I had it fixed and but then today we had a program update and when selecting my printer (it's got my name and the model #) I printed across the office at one of the others.  I don't know where to go to override the printer and get it back at my desk.

Hi @msaccounting,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your OfficeJet 8015e is sending print jobs to other identical printers in the office instead of yours. Let’s go through a few steps to make sure your computer prints only to your own printer.

    a. Set Your Printer as Default Printer
        • On Windows 11, go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
        • Click your printer (with your name/model), then select Set as default.
        • Disable "Let Windows manage my default printer" if it’s turned on (this can cause Windows to auto-switch to another printer).

    b. Remove Other Identical Printers from Your PC
        • In the same “Printers & scanners” menu, click the other OfficeJet 8015e printers.
        • Select Remove device to prevent accidental printing to them.
        • This will not affect those printers for other employees.

    c. Rename Your Printer (Optional – Helps Avoid Confusion)
        • Click your printer > Printer properties > General tab.
        • Rename it to something unique like “OfficeJet 8015e – [Your Name] (Desk)” and click Apply.

    d. Check the Printer Port/IP Address
        • Open Printer properties > Ports tab.
        • Make sure it’s using the IP address of your own printer, not one of the others.
        • If incorrect, uncheck it and select the correct port or create a new TCP/IP port with your printer’s IP:
            – Find your printer IP from the printer touchscreen: Network or Wireless settings > Printer Info
            – Click Add Port > Standard TCP/IP Port > New Port, enter that IP.

    e. Clear Pending Print Jobs
        • Go to Settings > Printers & scanners > select your printer > Open print queue.
        • Cancel all jobs and try printing a test page.

I hope this helps.
