HP Officejet Pro 8620 e-All-in-One Printer

This is getting a little silly.  This 8620 works for about an hour and after that NO DEVICES in my network can see the printer.  I have tried everything to fix this including:

1. Manual IP number

2. Load HP software in "Windows 7 Compatibility" Mode.

3. Create a specific port for the printer.

4. Factory reset and restore all software

Nothing works.  I have seen plenty of people that found cures to this problem. I tried virtually every fix they used and still I am getting nowhere.

This is Window s10 64 bit.

Thanks.

Michael

Hi @Goofey,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are facing intermittent wireless connectivity issues with your HP Officejet 8620 all-in-one Printer.

I suggest that you follow the steps listed below to update the firmware from HP Smart App.

1. Go to 123.hp.com (Android, Apple iOS, iPad OS), or HP Smart - Microsoft Store (Windows), or HP Smart - Mac App Store (Mac) (if not installed).

2. After completing the printer setup, click or tap on the printer’s name.

NOTE: Menu names, locations, and available settings vary by printer model.

3. Under Advanced, select Printer Home Page (EWS) or Advanced Settings.

4. Click or tap Tools or Web Services.

5. Click or tap Printer Updates or Product Update, and then click or tap Check Now.

Thanks for your note. I have already tried that method without results. I have also set the printer to a fixed IP address and that doesn’t help either. I can’t figure out why this thing keeps falling off my network, but it does.

Thanks again.

Tried it. Doesn’t work. Two years. I’ve been messing with this and no one at HP seems to take it seriously. It might be time

I called HP service as suggested. They advise that the printer is never going to stay connected because my Internet service provider is spectrum. So I guess that ends the inquiry. It would be nice if somebody posted that on this forum to save people time and effort, when their spectrum ISP  is never going to accommodate the printer.
