Hi @ElizabethAnd,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error message indicates that there is an issue with your HP account, which is preventing your HP 8340 printer from printing. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue.

Check Your HP Account Status:

  • Log in to your HP account on the HP website.
  • Ensure that your account is active and that there are no alerts or issues that need your attention.

Verify Subscription Status:

  • If you are using HP Instant Ink or any other subscription service, make sure that your subscription is active and that there are no payment issues.

Reconnect Your Printer to Your HP Account:

  • Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  • Select your printer and go to the settings.
  • Look for an option to reconnect or re-register your printer to your HP account.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the HP Smart app or on the printer’s control panel.

Restart Your Printer and Network:

  • Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a few minutes, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Restart your router to refresh the network connection.

Clear HP Account Cache and Cookies:

  • If you are accessing your HP account through a web browser, clear the browser’s cache and cookies, then try logging in again.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
