I have a HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28-M31 black ink only wireless printer that has worked perfectly for 4 years, until we had a new router and internet wifi installed in our home. I have not been able to connect my printer after trying numerous times. I would appreciate it very much if someone could help me online with this problem.

@Tanya1948, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Option 1: Reconnect Using HP Smart App
Reset Printer's Wi-Fi Settings
- Turn ON the printer.
- Press and hold the Wireless button (📶) on the printer for 10–20 seconds until the LED starts blinking.
- This resets the Wi-Fi and puts the printer into Wi-Fi setup mode.
Download HP Smart App
- On your phone or computer, download HP Smart App (if not already installed).
- Make sure your device is connected to the new Wi-Fi.
Add Printer in HP Smart App
- Open HP Smart and tap “+ Add Printer.”
- The app will search and detect your printer in setup mode.
- Select it and follow the on-screen instructions to connect it to your new Wi-Fi network.
- Enter the new Wi-Fi password when prompted.
Option 2: Use WPS (If Your Router Supports It)
Put Printer into WPS Mode
- Press and hold the Wireless button (📶) on the printer until it starts blinking.
Press WPS Button on Your Router
- Within 2 minutes, press the WPS button on your router.
- The printer and router should automatically pair.
- Once the wireless light stops blinking and stays solid, the connection is successful.

The HP app doesn’t recognize my printers serial number Edited product number Y5S53 A. My Daughter had tried to help me a month ago with this and we did have someone on the phone, but it was a weekend. I am feeling a little frustrated and my husband thinks it’s the printer but I never had a problem with my printer until now. If possible could you text me a number to call?
