Common problems for Connectivity Issues

I understand your HP ENVY 17.3-inch Laptop PC (17-cr1000 series) is not detecting your HP Smart Tank 7602 All-in-One printer, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:
 

Basic Checks

Power and Connection:

  • Ensure both the printer and laptop are turned on.
  • Check that the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop.

Printer Status:

  • Make sure the printer is not in sleep mode and is ready to print. Check for any error messages on the printer's display.

Software and Drivers

Update HP Smart App: HP printer setup (HP Smart app)

  • Make sure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed. You can check for updates in the Microsoft Store or download it from the HP website.

Install or Update Printer Drivers:

  • Go to the HP Software and Driver Downloads page and enter your printer model.
  • Download and install the latest drivers for your printer.

Network Connection

Reconnect Printer to Wi-Fi:

  • If the printer is connected via Wi-Fi, try reconnecting it to your network. You can usually do this from the printer's control panel under the network settings.

Check Firewall/Antivirus:

  • Sometimes firewall or antivirus settings can block printer connections. Temporarily disable these to see if the printer gets detected.

Troubleshooting Steps

Add Printer Manually:

  • In Windows 11, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
  • Click on Add a printer or scanner. If the printer doesn’t appear, click on The printer that I want isn’t listed and follow the prompts to add it manually.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor: HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP website. This tool can diagnose and fix many common printer issues.

Restart Devices

Restart Printer and Laptop:

  • Restart both your printer and laptop to refresh the connection.

Reset Network Settings:

  • If all else fails, consider resetting the network settings on both the printer and laptop, then reconnecting them to your Wi-Fi network.
