HP ENVY 6455e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

My Envy 6455e printer will not connect to the internet.   I have rebooted the internet and the printer.  I have removed the device and put it back on.   The blue light is on but it is not connected and will not print.

Hi @Garnier5,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Envy 6455e printer is showing a blue light but won’t connect to the internet or print. Let’s go through a few steps to fix this.

1. Verify Network Connection

Make sure the printer and your devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.

On the printer, go to Wireless Settings > Wireless Network Test to check connectivity.

If it shows “Not Connected,” reconnect using the Wireless Setup Wizard on the printer control panel.

2. Restart Devices Properly

Turn off the printer and unplug it from power.

Restart your Wi-Fi router and wait 1–2 minutes.

Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

Wait until the blue wireless light is steady before testing again.

3. Use HP Smart App to Reconnect

Open the HP Smart app on your computer or phone.

Remove the printer from the app, then select Add Printer.

Follow the on-screen instructions to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network.

4. Check for Interference and Wi-Fi Band

Ensure the printer is within 3–6 meters of the router without thick walls or devices causing interference.

If your router has both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, make sure the printer connects to 2.4 GHz (most HP printers work more reliably on this band).

5. Reset Network Settings on Printer

On the printer, go to Settings > Network Setup > Restore Network Defaults.

After resetting, reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi using the Wireless Setup Wizard.

6. Update Printer Firmware

From the HP Smart app or printer control panel, check for firmware updates.

Installing the latest firmware can fix connectivity and printing issues.

7. Test Printing

Once reconnected, print a Wireless Network Test Report or a simple document from your computer or phone.

Ensure the printer shows Ready/Online status before printing.

I hope this helps.
