My computer can not find my computer. I’ve tried numerous things but it hasn’t helped.

If your computer can't find your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M180nw printer, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

 

  • Check Connection: Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer via USB cable or connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Restart Devices: Sometimes a simple restart can solve connectivity issues. Restart both your computer and your printer.
  • Update Drivers: Make sure you have the latest drivers installed for your printer. Visit the HP support website, enter your printer model, and download the latest drivers for your operating system.
  • Check Printer Status: Ensure that the printer is turned on and not displaying any error messages.
  • Printer Settings: Access the printer settings menu from the control panel of the printer and ensure that it is set to be discoverable on the network.
  • Firewall/Antivirus: Your firewall or antivirus software might be blocking the connection. Temporarily disable them and check if the printer is detected.
