Hi @LizaLaBo,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When facing issues with your computer not communicating with your HP LaserJet Pro printer despite both devices being on the same Wi-Fi network, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take to resolve the problem. You mentioned you've tried everything, but let's go over some comprehensive steps to ensure no stone is left unturned:

1. Restart Devices

  • Restart the printer: Turn it off, wait for a minute, and then turn it back on. Sometimes, printers need a reset to clear any errors.
  • Restart your computer: This can help reset any software glitches that might be causing communication problems.

2. Check Printer Status

  • Make sure the printer is not displaying any error messages on its screen. If there are error messages, refer to the printer's manual or HP's support website for specific troubleshooting steps.

3. Run Windows Troubleshooter

  • Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter for printers. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters > Printer > Run the troubleshooter. This can often identify and fix common issues.

4. Check Printer Queue

  • Open the printer queue by searching for "Printers & scanners" in the Windows search bar, clicking on your printer, and selecting "Open queue". If there are any stuck print jobs, cancel them.

5. Ensure Printer is Set as Default

  • In "Printers & scanners" settings, make sure your HP LaserJet Pro is set as the default printer.

6. Update Printer Drivers

  • Automatically: In "Printers & scanners", find your printer, select "Manage", then "Printer properties", go to the "Advanced" tab, and click "New Driver" to let Windows search for an updated driver.
  • Manually: Visit HP's official website, find your printer model, and download the latest drivers. Install them following the provided instructions.

7. Re-add Printer

  • Remove your printer from "Printers & scanners" settings by selecting it and choosing "Remove device". Then, add it again by selecting "Add a printer or scanner". This can help refresh the connection.

8. Check Wi-Fi Connection

  • Ensure that both your computer and printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Sometimes devices connect to guest or secondary networks by mistake.

9. Disable VPN/Firewall Temporarily

  • If you're using a VPN or have an aggressive firewall setting, it might block communication between your computer and printer. Try disabling these temporarily to see if it resolves the issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
