Hi @lost2798,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP Envy printer is showing up as a network, and now your satellite internet cannot connect properly. Let’s go through some steps to fix this.

Check the printer’s network mode

Some HP Envy printers create a temporary wireless direct network for setup (usually named HP-Print).

This is normal during installation, but it should not interfere with your main Wi-Fi once connected.

Disconnect or turn off Wi-Fi Direct

On the printer, go to Setup → Network Settings → Wi-Fi Direct and turn it off.

This prevents the printer from broadcasting its own network.

Connect the printer to your home Wi-Fi

Use HP Smart or the printer control panel to connect it to your main home Wi-Fi network.

Ensure the printer is on the same network as your satellite dish/router.

Check your devices

After connecting, the printer should no longer appear as a separate network.

Restart your satellite receiver and router to ensure it connects to the main Wi-Fi without interference.

Verify network settings

Print a network configuration page from the printer to confirm it’s connected to the correct Wi-Fi SSID.

If needed, forget old or temporary networks on your devices to avoid auto-connecting to the printer’s direct network.

Tip: HP printers sometimes create a temporary Wi-Fi network during setup, but turning off Wi-Fi Direct and connecting to your home Wi-Fi resolves conflicts with other devices.

I hope this helps.
