It is a HP DeskJet 2700 All-In-One printer

Wireless connection.

It was working fine until this weekend. The only problem was it would not print cards from the Hallmark Program  After attempting to print cards, it stopped all printing.

Hi @Dglteach,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

It sounds like a complex print command from the Hallmark program may have overwhelmed the printer's memory, causing a "clog" that dropped your wireless connection. This is common with high-resolution card graphics.

Please follow these steps in order to clear the error and get your printer back online:

Step 1: Clear the "Stuck" Print Jobs (Windows)

Even if it looks like nothing is printing, a hidden file may be blocking the system.

  1. Press the Windows Key + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  2. Scroll down to Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Stop.
  3. Open File Explorer and go to C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS.
  4. Delete all files inside this folder (these are the old Hallmark files).
  5. Go back to the Services window, right-click Print Spooler, and select Start.

Step 2: Reset the Printer's Wireless Radio

We need to put the printer back into "Setup Mode" to reconnect it to your Wi-Fi.

  1. Ensure the printer is On.
  2. Press and hold the Wireless button and the Cancel button (the "X") at the same time for 5 seconds.
  3. The blue wireless light should begin blinking.

Step 3: Reconnect via the HP Smart App

  1. Open the HP Smart App on your computer or mobile device.
  2. Click the plus sign (+) or Add Printer.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to re-enter your Wi-Fi password.
  4. Once the blue light on the printer stays solid, the connection is restored.

To avoid this in the future, instead of printing directly from the Hallmark program, try saving the card as a PDF first. Then, open that PDF and print it. This simplifies the data so your printer can handle it more easily.

Please let me know if the blue wireless light stays solid or if you encounter any errors during the reconnection!

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
